Chinasia Ibonye is a Business Administration graduate from the Lagos State University. He’s a walking sports encyclopedia and refers to himself as a sports and music junkie. He’s been in the sports broadcasting industry for over a decade in electronic & print media, with the likes of Super Sports, TVC Channels TV, Cool FM, City FM, Guardian Newspapers, etc.
‘Chinnky’ as he’s fondly called by his friends and colleagues, has a keen interest and voracious appetite for sports stories. He embodies the profession as he’s an all-rounder when it comes to sport and listening to him report and analyze sports like Basketball, American football, Tennis, Formula One, Baseball, Ice Hockey, etc, will make you want to learn more about these sports. This trait made him win the award for the ‘Sports Journalist of the year’ at the 2016 Nigerian Sports Award. He also led City FM to the finals of the Sports writers association of Nigeria (SWAN) Cup in 2014, where he was voted as the best Goalkeeper of the tournament, an accolade he brags about till this day.
Chinasia also loves his music and is known to bust one or two moves on the dance floor. He describes his personality as an extroverted introvert and absolutely enjoys spending quality time with close friends and family.
