Nollywood luminary Uche Ogbodo is a strong proponent of intra-industry marriages, urging her colleagues to consider tying the knot with each other rather than seeking partners from outside the entertainment sphere. In her view, there’s a unique advantage to marrying within the Nollywood community, where individuals share a common understanding of the demands and dynamics of the industry.
Ogbodo emphasizes the depth of connection and empathy that can be fostered between Nollywood actors, given their shared experiences and challenges. According to her, this insider perspective creates a solid foundation for a successful and fulfilling partnership, characterized by mutual support and understanding.
Highlighting the qualities of Nollywood actresses as potential life partners, Ogbodo suggests that their resilience, creativity, and adaptability make them particularly well-suited for the role of a spouse. She believes that the demands of the entertainment industry equip these women with valuable skills and perspectives that enhance their abilities to navigate the complexities of marriage.
Ultimately, Ogbodo’s advocacy for intra-industry marriages reflects a belief in the strength of bonds forged within the Nollywood community, where shared passions and experiences lay the groundwork for lasting and meaningful relationships.
Ogbodo claimed that “Nollywood actresses make the best wives.”
In a recent Instagram post, she wrote: “My advice to Nollywood actors or actresses looking for a life partner. Look within the industry, husband full there, wife full.
“Marry yourselves. Your fellow actor understands you and your job better than an outsider. Besides Nollywood actresses make the best wives. Argue with yourself if you no gree.”
She added that she is also married to an actor.
