The Toffees were enraged after midfielder Rodri appeared to get away with an apparent handball call (main) in Saturday’s 1-0 loss at home to Manchester City, with both the on-field officials and VAR electing not to sanction the infringement.
Everton reportedly filed an official protest on Monday, along with a request for an apology to Lampard and his team in the aftermath of the dispute, according to reports.
However, according to Sky Sports, Mike Riley (left), the general manager of the Professional Game Match Official Limited, has personally called chairman Bill Kenwright and boss Frank Lampard (inset, together) to apologize for his organization’s Merseyside inadequacies.
